Cooperin Guide ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

Information stored locally on your device:

• Job names and saved calculation results (stored via AsyncStorage)
• App preferences and settings

Information processed by third-party services:

• Text messages sent to the Coop AI chat feature are processed by third-party AI services (OpenRouter) to generate responses. These messages are not permanently stored by us.
• Photos sent to the Coop AI feature for analysis are transmitted to third-party AI vision services for processing. Photos are not permanently stored by us or our AI service providers.

Information we do NOT collect:

• We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location
• We do not collect device identifiers or tracking data
• We do not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels
• We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for marketing purposes

3. Data Storage

All job data, calculation history, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you use the AI chat feature. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.

4. AI Chat Feature

When you use Coop AI, your messages (and photos, if attached) are sent to our server, which forwards them to third-party AI services (OpenRouter) for processing. These communications are:

• Transmitted securely via HTTPS
• Not stored permanently on our servers
• Not used to train AI models
• Not linked to any personal identifier

5. Internet Connectivity

Cooperin Guide requires an internet connection ONLY for the Coop AI chat feature. All 12 calculators, NEC reference tables, conduit bender, unit converter, and job storage work completely offline with no internet connection required.

6. Children's Privacy

Cooperin Guide is designed for licensed electricians and electrical professionals. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services for AI functionality only:

• OpenRouter — Routes AI requests to language models for text and image analysis. Subject to OpenRouter's Privacy Policy.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all network communications. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete on our end. All locally stored data can be deleted by uninstalling the app. You can stop AI data processing at any time by simply not using the AI chat feature.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By downloading, installing, or using Cooperin Guide, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Purpose and Scope

Cooperin Guide is a reference and estimation tool provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is designed as a field companion for licensed electricians and electrical professionals.

3. NOT Professional Advice

Calculations, AI responses, reference tables, and all other content provided by Cooperin Guide are NOT professional electrical engineering advice, design services, or official code interpretations. This application is NOT a substitute for the judgment of a licensed electrician, professional engineer, or the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). All results must be independently verified before use in any electrical installation, design, or inspection.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

THIS APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ACCURACY.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPERS, OWNERS, AND DISTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURES, CODE VIOLATIONS, FINANCIAL LOSSES, OR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THIS APP.

6. User Responsibilities

By using this app, you agree to:

• Verify all results through independent methods

7. AI Assistant Notice

The Coop AI feature uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI responses may contain errors, outdated information, or incomplete guidance. AI output does not constitute professional advice and should never be the sole basis for electrical work decisions.

8. Code Compliance

Calculations may reference the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other standards. Local code amendments, adoption dates, and AHJ interpretations may differ significantly. NEC adoption varies by state and municipality. Always verify which edition and local amendments apply in your jurisdiction.

9. Trademark Attribution

National Electrical Code® and NEC® are registered trademarks of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Quincy, Massachusetts. Cooperin Guide is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NFPA. References to the NEC are for informational purposes only.

10. Safety Warning

Electrical work is inherently dangerous and can result in serious injury, death, or property damage if performed improperly. Always de-energize circuits before working on them. Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the app developers, their officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of this application or reliance on its output.

Does Cooperin Guide work offline?

Yes. All 12 calculators, NEC reference tables, conduit bender, unit converter, and job storage work completely offline. Only the Coop AI chat feature requires an internet connection.

What NEC edition does the app use?

Cooperin Guide references the NEC 2023 (NFPA 70-2023). All ampacity tables, wire data, and code references are verified against official NEC 2023 values. Local amendments may apply in your jurisdiction.

How does the AI photo analysis work?

Take a photo of any motor nameplate, panel schedule, or electrical equipment. Coop AI uses vision AI to read the data and provide NEC-compliant sizing, protection, and installation recommendations.

Is my data private?

How accurate are the calculations?
